Soft Pastel Demon Slayer 鬼滅の刃 Tanjirou Kamado 竈門炭治郎

Demon Slayer Tanjirou

Today I would like to share with you my anime colouring sheet that I did on the Demon Slayer anime.

The reason for such a colouring sketch was that my third son asked me to create him a laminated file so that he can use as an insert for his schoolwork. The plastic laminated file can be put between the pages, so the writer doesn’t press down on the next page or smudge their work.

The characters name is Tanjirou Kamado 竈門炭治郎 and is the main character in the anime Demon Slayer 鬼滅の刃. My other children have all asked for an insert, but of different character’s and anime, so this might become a new category in itself.

I found a colouring sheet online, along with the original sketch and printed them both off and using the original as a guide I coloured the character with my Derwent soft pastels. I found that the soft pastels blended very well but left a lot of mess as the paper I was using was the standard A4 you get for printing.

This colouring project was fun but I’m not sure if it will be popular for my youtube channel, but as I have promised my children, I will not let an art opportunity go to waste. Also, I will make sure to include a photo of the finished laminated insert as well.

I hope you enjoy watching my time-lapsed recording of my Soft Pastel Demon Slayer 鬼滅の刃 Tanjirou Kamado 竈門炭治郎.

Oil Pastel Painting Demon Slayer 鬼滅の刃

Demon Slayer 鬼滅の刃

Today I created a silhouette of a character from the anime demon slayer or 鬼滅の刃 in Japanese. My children have told me that the name is Tanjiro, the main character from the anime and is something we all watch together on Friday evenings.

I was asked, by my children to do something on the Demon Slayer theme as it is their favourite anime. Actually, the animation is very popular right now in Japan and sold out at the box office on the first day of its release. Well, the newest anime that is which will be to the horror of my children as I don’t remember the name.

I enjoyed the silhouette drawing, not that it was easy but that it was enjoyable to bring something to life with just a few colours with the main being black.

It has given me the idea to create an oil pastel silhouette category as when I do draw my oil pastel paintings they are kind of in this area. I find the oil pastels to work better when I am doing silhouette drawings instead of painting like I would with soft pastels.

Anyway, I believe I will have more requests from my family on things they would like for me to draw in oil pastel, so keep an eye out for my next anime-inspired painting.

I hope you enjoy watching my time-lapsed recording of my Oil Pastel painting of Demon Slayer 鬼滅の刃.
