Today I would like to share with you my soft pastel painting of Koi Fish done with soft pastels.
I first drew my line art of three koi fish swimming in a pond with a few lily pads off to the edges and one of the koi fish breaking the surface with a few ripples as an effect.
I enjoyed using soft pastels and once again found how easy they were to blend the colours just with my fingers or with the aid of a blending stump. The more I used them, the more I want to throw my oil ones in the back of my art box.
The only issues I had with this painting was the recording itself. I once again didn’t set up my camera in the correct angle and managed to capture the top of my head more times than I would have liked.
To remedy this, I thought I’d be smart and add a title at the bottom of my video to try and hide my head, but I ended up blocking out a good part of the painting. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to recording and editing, so it’s going to be a trial and error experience until I get it right.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my time-lapsed recording and I apologies that the recording is not as I usually produce.
